Next to Mario 64, this was the best action/adventure game for the N64 and included more collectibles than Mario 64. Completed the game and it was tons of fun.

I enjoyed this game... until it became clear that this was what every game ended up trying to copy. I dunno--Conker's Bad Fur Day really soured my view on all these games. Why? Well Conker's main selling point was toilet humour. I generally saw that as the only reason that game actually did well. With the Conker game, it generally soured my views on a lot of other similar games by Rare, such as this one.
I never played Conker's Bad Fur Day, I'm not a fan of toilet humor and it turns my stomach to just think about it personally. I personally thought it was stupid of Rare to create such a game, because I knew it would only attract those that believed it made them "hardcore" to play a questionable game. My friend played it and would brag about how cool it was to play a game that little kids couldn't play. I personally am all for not playing games dumbed down for kids, but I am also not for games that include questionable content just for the sake of doing it, as it only attracts teenagers to play the game to make them think they are cool for doing so. Shame on Rare.
I cannot argue there. Conker's Bad Fur Day is mostly what ruined Rare for me. It really soured my opinion on them.

Though, I still admit to loving Jet Force Gemini. It is just a shame my N64 controllers are all gummed up, and we won't see Jet Force Gemini on the Wii VC.
Truth be told I liked this game more than Mario 64 but barely. I just rebought an N64 a while ago and the first game I picked up was this one.
Well--I dunno, I guess there were plenty of other platformers available on the N64 that didn't let this one shine out nearly as much as it did for others.

My main issue was I couldn't connect with many of the characters in the game really--it just didn't connect for me. I really don't know why, I mean, it is a good game.
